Iron Maiden Documentary Set to Rock Cinemas in 2025

Iron Maiden, the legendary heavy metal band founded in London, is set to be the focus of a new documentary film produced by Dominic Freeman. Universal Pictures Content Group (UPCG) holds the global rights to this much-anticipated film, which will provide a unique insight into the band from their own perspective. The film is slated for an international cinema release by Universal Pictures International in the autumn of 2025, coinciding with Iron Maiden's 50th anniversary year.

The documentary will delve into Iron Maiden's extraordinary career, including their rise as one of Britain's biggest musical exports with over 100 million records sold worldwide. It will feature interviews with both past and present band members, as well as devoted followers such as Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Gene Simmons. In addition to these interviews, the film will include previously unseen footage of the band and innovative 3D animation of their iconic zombie-like mascot, Eddie.

Freeman, known for his work on "Spirits In The Forest – A Depeche Mode Film," leads the production, while Malcolm Venville directs. This collaboration aims to create an intimate portrait of Iron Maiden's journey through decades of heavy metal glory. Rod Smallwood, Iron Maiden's manager, expressed enthusiasm about this project.

"We're proud Universal Pictures Content Group has chosen to share the unique story of Iron Maiden with the world. We have given them unrestricted access to the band, our fans and musical peers," said Rod Smallwood.

Helen Parker also highlighted the significance of this endeavor.

"Working closely with the band and their passionate fans has been an unrivalled experience allowing us to tell their story in a unique way and celebrate their incomparable fearless creativity," she said.

The film promises to showcase some of Iron Maiden's greatest hits, including "Aces High," "The Trooper," and "Hallowed Be Thy Name," bringing the essence of their music to life on the big screen. As anticipation builds for this cinematic tribute to Iron Maiden's legacy, fans worldwide eagerly await its premiere.
