Elizabeth Hurley, the iconic actress and entrepreneur, just had an incredible escape to the Maldives. She fearlessly expressed her passion for fashion during the entire journey. On the 9th of April, she posted this stunning video on Instagram. Most recently, it gave her the chance to flaunt the island’s stunning tropical views, as she relaxed in the turquoise waters and enjoyed the sunset painting the skyline.
In the clip, Hurley showed off a taupe, two-piece bikini from her personal swimwear collection, Elizabeth Hurley Beach. That trickle of anticipation was further deepened by the breathtaking natural scenery of our hosts at the Baglioni Resort Maldives. With a caption that read, “The most glorious sunset in the glorious Maldives” accompanied by a pink heart emoji, she expressed her delight in the picturesque setting.
Hurley, who is now in her 50s, has long preached body positivity for women of any age. In fact, in a 2021 interview with Yahoo!, she emphatically declared that scores of women are behind her decision to wear bikinis. She hopes this judgment encourages them to accept themselves as beautiful, too.
“Yes, I still wear bikinis on holidays and because I’ve got a bikini company, I’m happy to share those pictures.” – Elizabeth Hurley
In a follow-up interview in 2022, she doubled down on her stance. She pointed out that most women her age enjoy trips outside the home without the fear of being shamed by other women.
“There’s plenty of women my age who really love going on vacation, prancing around the beach, wearing whatever they want to wear and not being afraid of other people making sneering comments,” – Elizabeth Hurley
This attitude sparkled in Hurley’s confidence and colored the day with an energy that empowered all women—inspiring them to embrace their bodies, no matter their age. And her new swimwear line continues to trend upward. By promoting her own designs, she sends a strong message to women everywhere.
In her words, “Social media can be a really positive platform for self-expression and empowerment. Hurley’s posts encourage women to embrace their body shape. One bikini moment at a time, she redefines societal concepts of beauty and aging.
