Eartheater and Shygirl Collaborate on New EP Featuring “Shark Brain” and “Dolphin”

Eartheater, an innovative artist known for her experimental sound, has joined forces with rising star Shygirl to release two new tracks titled “Shark Brain” and “Dolphin.” As A Sweet Life Together is a first-time collaboration between these two visionary artists, listen as the incandescent energy of their creative spirits leaps from sound to sight. Eartheater will release both songs on her forthcoming Club Shy Room 2 EP. This album vows to take the audience deeper, inspiring new spaces into their craft.

“Shark Brain,” which Eartheater created five years ago, has developed a following among fans who heard it performed live multiple times. While the artist was initially reluctant to put the song out, it was the pressure and persuasion from her audience that led her to do so.

I wrote Shark Brain five years ago and played it live a whole bunch. It got a great response from my fans, who all loved it and kept pressuring me to put it out… and I didn’t know if I ever would.

Beyond its in-person engagements, “Shark Brain” actually made it online before release. But as Eartheater said, even that sensitive information later found its way to the public. She figured that had to be why her fans already know all the words. The song’s rebellious sound and fate-sealing lyrics come in part from a fascinating observation she picked up on.

She described how the inspiration for the song hit her after finding out that a hammerhead shark’s brain closely resembles a female reproductive system. This wonderful juxtaposition inspired her imagination and set her to writing.

On the production side, Eartheater collaborated with Andy Morin on “Shark Brain.” For “Dolphin,” she worked with Tony Seltzer and Inef Coupe. The different production teams for each track go to underscore Eartheater’s restlessness and accommodating courage, a desire to stretch into various soundscapes.

Dwelling within a more sensuous soundscape than Shark Brain, Dolphin further illustrates Shygirl’s talents from her perspective as a featured artist. This new collaboration with Eartheater is indicative of their mutual forward-thinking principles and desire to expand the possible parameters of music.

In that vein, Eartheater has always worked with a secretly weird variety of producers and musicians over the course of her career. Collaborating with Shygirl over two tracks, this EP will be a big highlight in her still-young discography.
