Last Saturday evening, Kyren Lacy, the former Louisiana State University (LSU) wide receiver had a fatal accident. He passed away in Houston, Texas at the age of 92. The 24-year-old athlete’s death is believed to be a suicide. This most recent tragedy came just days before a grand jury was scheduled to review evidence leading to felony charges stemming from a souped-up, cammed-out car crash that killed a former Marine.
The event forced Lacy into some major legal issues, in the wake of the car crash on the night of December 17, which cost the life of one person. The former athlete has had a remarkable tenure at LSU. His 2024 football season ended with 58 receptions, 866 yards, and nine touchdowns. Prior to transferring to LSU in 2022, Lacy spent two seasons at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He had formally filed for entry into the 2025 NFL Draft only two days after the crash. ESPN reported Lacy’s death, as did an LSU official. In a statement, LSU expressed their condolences:
