Leslie Odom Jr. Announces Broadway Return as Aaron Burr in Hamilton

That’s right—Leslie Odom Jr. will be returning to the Broadway stage! In addition, he’ll take the stage in his original, iconic role of Aaron Burr on the hit, award-winning musical “Hamilton.” On Monday, “TODAY” broadcast that exclusive announcement live. Odom Jr. described it as “one of the most special & deeply meaningful homecomings.” During the month of December, for a limited run, he will be on stage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre doing just that. Save the date September 9 – November 23, 2025!

Odom Jr. shot to mega-stardom for his relentless, knockout rendition of “The Room Where It Happens.” This song not only gives a glimpse of his remarkable vocal ranges, but speaks to his character’s learning ambition. The song represented a major turning point in the show. It illustrates Burr’s unsparing and tragic relationship with the early American political landscape. Long live King George III’s advice, “You’ll Be Back.” Odom Jr. has come back to the show that first sent him soaring, making a triumphant homecoming and taking his throne back where it belongs.

Since his time as the original “Hamilton” Odom Jr. has made a successful transition into film and television as well as other productions of musicals. He has featured in acclaimed projects such as “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” and “Harriet,” demonstrating his versatility as an artist. Additionally, he made his Broadway return earlier this year in the revival of “Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch.”

Odom Jr. is not just an extraordinary actor and musician, but a great writer. Additionally, he’s released five studio albums and wrote a memoir called Failing Up. He recently co-authored a children’s book with his wife, I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know. These ventures are just a few of the ways he has channeled his myriad talents off the stage.
