Illuminati Hotties are bringing some very special news, too! They recently shared that news by announcing a headlining tour on their home turf, the United States and by announcing their forthcoming EP, “Nickel on the Fountain Floor,” out May 30 via Hopeless Records. It’s for that reason we were excited to hear their just announced new single, “Wreck My Life.” The video stars PUP’s singer-guitarist, Stefan Babcock, and was released on May 2nd.
The forthcoming EP, “Nickel on the Fountain Floor,” is a product of the songwriting sessions for their 2024 album “Power.” Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties explained that certain tracks just didn’t mesh with the concept of “Power.” She thought they warranted a second examination. Here’s what she had to say about reflecting on “Wreck My Life.” She continues, “There are a few songs that I just didn’t know how to bend into Power — they either lived in the same hood as Power or maybe just weren’t fully cooked in time. ‘Wreck My Life’ was a song that was kinda weeping on the editing room floor for a makeover.
The band will also go on a brief, month-long tour of Europe with fellow labelmates PUP starting May 10. They’ll be playing in dynamic cities including Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol, Southampton, London, and Amsterdam, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich.
Illuminati Hotties are about to conclude their Euro-jaunt. They’ll be starting their first-ever U.S. headlining tour June 1 in Chicago at the Beat Kitchen! This tour will have openers Georgia Maq and Allie, ending on June 21 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Further, the band will appear at Chicago’s Do Division Festival on June 1.
Illuminati Hotties has gained raves for their past work. Their recent album Power made it all the way to #3 on Bandcamp’s “The 50 Best Albums of 2021” list. The anticipation surrounding “Nickel on the Fountain Floor” and the upcoming tours highlights the band’s growth and continued relevance in the music scene.
