Kane Bolan, an inspiring six-year-old boy from Minnesota, taught us all that life isn’t defined by extraordinary challenges with a rare condition called heterotaxy syndrome. This condition deranges the delicate balance of internal organs to autoimmune reactions. So, instead, Kane’s heart settled into the wrong side of his chest and abdomen. Over the course of his short life, Kane experienced over 200 hospital visits. Each day, he fought to stay alive thanks in part to a pacemaker.
During a scary moment in early March, Kane coded and needed urgent resuscitation. The doctors gave CPR for an incredible 91 minutes. Sadly, Kane never truly bounced back after this tragic event. His final days were spent with his family and loved ones gathered near him, encircled with love.
Even through that time of difficulty, Kane found solace in the Disney Pixar movie “Moana.” He developed a particularly close relationship with the character Maui, voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Kane was someone who profoundly loved the islands, especially Maui. This admiration ignited a twist that wrapped Dean’s last moments in warmth and happiness.
To Kane’s surprise, Johnson, in a warm show of generosity, connected with him over a video call to express his support. While Kane was clearly unable to speak, their time together opened up into a deeply moving and soulful exchange.
“Despite not being able to speak when we met, I FELT this little boy’s SMILE, and felt this little boy’s MANA,” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Johnson’s words emphasized the impact that Kane had on him, reflecting the strength and beauty of the young boy’s spirit. He further expressed his admiration for Kane, stating:
“His mana was beautiful. His mana was strong,” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Kane’s story is an uplifting reminder of resilience and inspiration. Sharing a beautiful remembrance, Johnson shared the powerful impact Kane had on all those he met.
“You inspire everybody around you and including me, too,” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Kane Bolan’s life opened the world to his challenges, the light he shared with those around him. His fascination with “Moana” helped make that joy contagious. The bond he had with Maui and this unexpected phone call from Johnson made for an unforgettable moment for his family.
