On April 8, actor Haley Joel Osment, known for his roles in “Forrest Gump” and “The Sixth Sense,” was busted. The attack occurred at Mammoth Mountain, a world-renowned ski resort just south of Yosemite National Park. 1 possession of cocaine, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication (under influence of alcohol).
Witnesses told officers that Osment, 35, was “incredibly intoxicated” while placing an order for a drink at a local bar in the ski village. Immediately, his demeanor went downhill as he became combative with staff and customers too. That combustible situation led law enforcement to become involved, resulting in his eventual arrest on suspicion of public intoxication.
In the course of his arrest, Osment allegedly yelled an antisemitic slur at the arresting officers and went on to violently air his grievances. “You’ll wish you treated me nicer. Yes you will,” he stated, demonstrating his agitation with the officers on the scene. He hinted that he would look to “punish” the people he felt had “inconvenienced” him. This new move might further deepen his legal quagmire.
The park fire that destroyed Osment’s home in Altadena just before the accident at Mammoth Mountain. This series of unfortunate events has only added to the actor’s recent woes. Understandably, the fire’s effect on his life led to his unexplained outburst and subsequent arrest.
Osment’s career started young as a child actor, and he is best known for his roles in impactful, award-winning films. After this latest episode, one can’t help but be worried for his safety and the demands that come along with stardom.
