From Friends to Forever: The Love Story of Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz

Kimberly J. Brown & Daniel Kountz, known for their roles in the Disney Channel original movie “Halloweentown II”, were recently married. They honeymooned and then celebrated their marriage in gorgeous northern California. The pair first met on set, when Brown was 16 years old and Kountz 22. They started off as best friends, but fast forward about ten years later and these two were dating again.

Brown, who is 40 years old now, became a household name for her role as Marnie Piper on the cult-favorite Disney Channel original series. Kountz, 46, is best known for his role as Kal in the 2004 movie A Shark Tale. Their six-year age difference brought a special dynamic to their friendship. As adolescents, they entered the theater scene together, unaccustomed to the game and relying on their familiarity with each other to navigate it.

During their first meeting, Kountz emphasized the benefit of their new industry relationship. To that, he replied, “We were the same kind of colleagues working together, and to tell you the truth, we became friends. He continued, “I say that because that would be hilarious, but no, we were absolute professionals. Their relationship was based on a deep sense of respect and friendship, which continued well after the production wrapped.

Years later, Brown contacted Kountz via Facebook about a possible music collaboration. Under this agreement, their initial communication with one another ushered in a new era – both for the partners and their constituents. They reunited almost nine years later after meeting on the set of “Halloweentown II.”

As they started to hang out with each other more, Brown became attracted to Kountz’s nurturing spirit. No matter the situation, he always finds time for me. I’m just grateful that he got to show her all of his love and care without limits,” she said. Kountz admired Brown’s determination, remarking, “When she has an idea, she acts on it and does it and takes care of it. She’s like a force of nature.”

Their friendship quickly turned into an incredible romance. On June 26, 2022, Kountz at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, proposing with poetic passion. We went straight up through the flats in front of the observatory. Little did she know that would be the exact spot where we went on our first official date! He proposed back in the same location, and it was just like the most magical night ever,” Brown remembered.

The couple were married in a rainbow-filled ceremony supported by 92 family and friends on April 19, 2024. Among the guests was actress Lacey Chabert, who joined their family and friends to celebrate their union as well.
