Country singer Jelly Roll, known for his candid personality and relatable anecdotes, recently opened up about a peculiar habit that he admits annoys his wife, Bunnie Xo. While visiting The Jennifer Hudson Show on April 18, Jelly Roll revealed a neat little secret. Plus, he shared that he only wears socks one time and throws them out! This habit has become a major source of conflict in his eight-year marriage.
Alongside fellow country artist Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll discussed life and music while sharing insights into his personal quirks. The singer, who’s like an actual artist now, is a current artist in residence this season on ABC’s version of American Idol. In fact, he confessed that his own clothing organization could use some work! Award-winning artists Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan are this season’s American Idol judges. Other festivalgoers we met have been genuinely blown away, not just by Jelly’s talent, but his authenticity.
“I know and I’ve been trying to break this habit, y’all, and it annoys her to no end,” Jelly Roll admitted during the show. He explained that he purchases socks in bulk to avoid wearing them again, deeming it more convenient despite the wastefulness.
If you need proof of this “bad habit,” just ask Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo. She explains how his attitude towards socks drives her up the wall. For Jelly Roll, who is 40 years old, this habit is just one of the many ways he showcases his quirky personality. He humorously added, “Don’t judge me for this, y’all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once.”
Aside from his sock conundrum, Jelly Roll admitted to other adult clothing habits that would make most people cringe. He spoke about a proclivity to drop clothing along the way from front entrance to shower. This insight really hit the mark, and none more so than with Bryan, who shared his own hilarious story to illustrate the need for kitchen sanitation.
If I add creamer to my coffee, give the spoon a twirl and place that spoon down on the countertop, Bryan noted, without a paper towel or something to ‘sop up’ the liquid, that’s just ‘worse than snoring.’
As silly as Jelly Roll’s chat might sound, his lifestyle is no joke. He’s even driven to get his health in check to save his marriage. As he balances his burgeoning career and family life, Jelly Roll stays down to earth and accessible to his fans.
