Noah Schnapp opened up about his friendship with Millie Bobby Brown and his job interviewing her boyfriends. Schnapp delivering these remarks at Epic Cons’ The Upside Down event in Jackson, Georgia, on October 19. He opened up about how he and Brown developed a deep friendship while working together on “Stranger Things.” Their friendship developed from the very beginning. It only took a few moments for Schnapp to take on his role of Brown’s bodyguard when it came to her dating life.
Schnapp later acknowledged that he’d been hard on Brown’s past defendants. This was all pre–going Instagram official with Jake Bongiovi, who she met in 2021. When he got to know Bongiovi, Campbell’s heart began to melt. “This one I really loved,” Schnapp said, noting that he really enjoyed his co-star Millie Bobby Brown’s then-offscreen boyfriend. He expressed confidence in their relationship, stating, “You know what, I approve. I’m okay with this long term.”
Speculation around Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi’s relationship first started in June 2021. They were seen together publicly a lot of times, adding more mystery to the story. The couple went Instagram official in November of that year, essentially sealing the deal on their romance. Schnapp noted the importance of their connection, saying, “We have so many special memories together,” reflecting on both his and Brown’s journey through their careers and personal lives.
Brown and Bongiovi were married in May of 2024. In October 2024, they reaffirmed their love with a second vow exchange, signifying that they are truly “stuck” with each other. For all the intimacy he has with Brown, Schnapp explained that their relationship is “totally platonic.” They even created an epic climate-friendly caucus pact. If both of them are still unmarried when they reach the age of 40, they’ll get married to one another!
Now 20, Schnapp is still charting his own course as a young adult while cheering for his friends’ continued success. Brown, now 21, has a new man in her life—22-year-old Bongiovi—and she seems very happy with him. Their common experiences on the set of “Stranger Things” have certainly defined their relationships and platonic love over the past six seasons.
