Prince Harry Set to Honor A-List Legends at Living Legends of Aviation Ceremony

Prince Harry to make a big splash on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame! He is to be a part of the 22nd annual Living Legends of Aviation induction ceremony. The award ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Friday, April 25th. This time around, though, he’s set to be part of an A-list celebrity filled, real life version of that movie. Among them is actor Morgan Freeman as they honor the valorous aerial firefighters who fought the wildfires in Los Angeles this past year.

Last year Prince Harry also received recognition as a Living Legend. His award recognized his faithful service as a helicopter pilot during his ten years spent serving in the British Army. He’d trained on three continents and flown close air support combat missions in Afghanistan. His extensive experience in aviation adds to the ceremony’s sense of occasion. Most importantly, it lets him build a personal connection with this year’s inductees.

Just last January, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became involved in the relief efforts for wildfire victims. While there, they handed out food and health supplies and personally greeted the courageous firefighters who battled the apocalyptic flames. Their pledge to the people of Gaza is a testament to their humanitarian principles.

At the upcoming award ceremony, Prince Harry will join other notable honorees. For Gemini’s 20th Anniversary Class of 2020, we are recognizing Christopher Cassidy and Robert “Hoot” Gibson as this year’s Living Legends. Cassidy has certainly done amazing things as a former Navy SEAL and NASA astronaut. He flew on three spaceflights and logged an incredible 377 days in space. Gibson, another former astronaut and Navy fighter pilot, has a deep pedigree in air racing.

John Travolta will once again step into the role of host and “aviation ambassador” for the 2025 Living Legends ceremony. Speaking during last year’s event, Prince Harry recounted a humorous anecdote. He jokingly called John Travolta out for his iconic dance moves with the late Princess Diana, telling Travolta on stage, “I was one years old when you danced with my mother.”

“But look at us now, it’s great! So if we’re not going to dance together, we’ll fly together.” – Prince Harry

Among the many highlights, this year’s ceremony will present the inaugural Dr. Buzz Aldrin Space Advancement Award. The Polaris Dawn Crew will be the first to receive this unique award of distinction. The award serves to inspire public interest and excitement by highlighting exceptional achievements in space exploration and discovery.
