Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp recently got positive updates about her own cancer journey. She couldn’t wait to tell her thousands of happy fans about this encouraging development. The 41-year-old reality television star took to social media on Monday to celebrate her successful treatment. After receiving a diagnosis of stage 2 melanoma in 2022, Melissa has moved mountains. Read her full emotional note on Instagram. In it, she talked about how thankful she is for the amazing, wonderful support she has received all during the campaign.
Mellencamp recently had to have skin cancer removed, and in September 2022 had 16 melanoma spots cut out. Things worsened after her cancer became stage 4 in April 2023. This tragic turn of events led to her father – rock and roll icon John Mellencamp – having to start making burial plans for his daughter.
With all of these hurdles, one would think Mellencamp would be discouraged. That’s far from the case. Since revealing her diagnosis to the world mid-August, she shared on social media that her brain and lung tumors have “shrunk!” In one scan in March, the doctors discovered several tumors in her lungs, all diagnosed as metastases of her melanoma. As of the end of September, she has just under six weeks of treatment left.
In a deeply personal post, Mellencamp wrote about how she has vowed to be “high on positivity” despite the challenges she’s faced.
“I’m going to keep a positive outlook because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me,” – Teddi Mellencamp
She emphasized the encouragement she has received from her medical team, stating, “He’s like, ‘You did this, you got this.’”
Mellencamp’s fierce spirit in the face of her illness has struck a chord with fans across the country. She expressed gratitude for all the love and positivity she received during her treatment, stating,
“Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity.”
While she has a long way to go on the road to full recovery, Mellencamp says she is hopeful about what lies ahead. Although she knows that her treatment will lead to difficult times before the end result is good health, she expresses her hope through the lines,
“this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good.”
