Nia Sanchez and Daniel Booko, a young Valley couple, look forward to the upcoming birth of their fourth child, a daughter. They still haven’t agreed on what to call her. Their oldest son, Asher 3½, has just made it his mission to try to name her “Little Dolly.” Naturally, the first-time-internship couple is thrilled by Asher’s unbridled enthusiasm. They believe that “Little Dolly” might just be a nickname and not the winning name.
Isabelle and Zariah, the couple’s twins, are now 22 months. Together with their son Asher, they are happily learning the new adventure of naming their expanding family and balancing daily adventures in parenting. With June just around the corner, Nia and Daniel are feeling the squeeze. Just like parents-to-be, they know they need to settle on their baby name before too long!
Nia underscored the precariousness of what they were up against. We have a little over two months to go and we don’t even have a name yet!” she said. She continued, noting that they like to pick names at the very early stages of pregnancy. We like to pick our names as soon as we can get away with it. Both parents concede succumbing to the stress of their hectic schedule. We have so much contentious stuff going on,” Daniel observed. Then it’s like, ‘Oh wow. We don’t have a name picked out.’ So we’re sort of trying to calm down and do due diligence and be sure we’re taking care of those most critical important bases.
The couple have already started the process of elimination and think they will be able to narrow it down to between three and five names. Daniel elaborated on Asher’s steadfast suggestion: “Asher’s suggestion is ‘Little Dolly,’ and he is not straying away from that.”
This pregnancy has been different from any of their past pregnancies as well. Daniel reflected on the challenges of managing multiple children while expecting another, sharing, “It’s so funny, because you have the first pregnancy and then the second pregnancy. This pregnancy is like, ‘I forgot you’re pregnant.’ I got three of the kids, and life is just moving so fast.”
Nia shared similar feelings but focused on the peacefulness she felt this time around. This pregnancy has truly been a pregnancy in which I have felt so centered,” she wrote. And because the first one went so perfectly because it was brand new, yeah, the second one, we really went through a roller coaster.
Nia and Daniel can’t wait to dive into the joys and challenges of welcoming their fourth child. In the meantime, they remain hopeful as they continue to look for that ideal moniker for their newest member.
