Baldur’s Gate 3, the hit RPG from Larian Studios, has just hit a big milestone. On April 15, the collaborative team released its eighth and final patch. This major update introduces a highly anticipated lineup of features and enhancements. These improvements take the experience to another level and give players powerful new capabilities to better navigate the game’s massive open world.
Perhaps the biggest overall addition in this last patch is the addition of crossplay multiplayer between the PC, PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game. This addition allows players to cooperate with their friends across all the platforms. It fosters inclusion and bridges gaps and differences, cultivating a deeper sense of community and shared experience through play. Now players can venture to the far reaches of Baldur’s Gate together. It’s irrelevant whether they’re playing on PC, PlayStation or wherever!
The patch adds thrilling new crossplay multiplayer mode ✨ It adds a new Photo Mode, which gives the player powerful tools to capture beautiful looking screenshots of their characters and the game’s breathtaking landscapes. This addition allows players to showcase their adventures and creativity while exploring the rich visuals that Baldur’s Gate 3 has to offer.
The patch further improves character customization with character subclasses by adding 12 new sub-classes to each of the game’s classes. Included in these new subclasses are the Path of the Giant Barbarian, College of Glamour Bard, and Death Domain Cleric. These changes give players more options than ever before to customize their characters to fit how they want to play and who they want to be.
The last patch addressed a slew of bugs and crashes that ruined the experience for the players. It directly focuses on user interface (UI) related problems. Players complained of crashing and freezing when opening specific menus, a problem that has since been fixed. The new update fixes a major bug where items in inventories would get sent flying when broken. Today it’s revolutionized inventory management by making everything easily accessible.
Other notable changes see Tavern Brawler fixed up to work correctly with Wild Shapes in Honour Mode. We’ve reworded the tooltip for the Hexblade’s Curse. Now it’s free of complex technical terminology, which allows for easier comprehension during Character Creation and Level Up steps.
We’ve fixed a problem with an Undead Harper in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. This makes it quite different from Harper Skywin’s evil twin. The Acolyte of Nature passive tooltip shows up properly on Character Sheet now. This is an overall quality of life change for players allowing them to more easily access important information regarding their character. Finally, the patch addresses a bug in the controller UI. Due to this issue, there may have been incorrect alerts on if a player was signed into their Larian Account.
