Today is Billy’s 8th birthday. He is very healthy and strong thanks to the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff at @ChildrensLA & @CedarsSinai and to those of you who have sent prayers, well wishes and donations through the years,” said Jimmy Kimmel. He continued to describe the experience as a “humbling experience” and the need for a community to rally around you during your darkest hours.

“He’s a very funny kid. He’s totally fine now. Hopefully he’ll never have to have another surgery of any kind thanks to the Children’s Hospital in L.A., which is a great hospital,” Kimmel noted. He noted that you would never know that Billy has undergone numerous surgeries. The one obvious mark is the scar that runs from his throat to his bellybutton.
Thankful for the daily support of his wife, Molly, Kimmel stood with her, thanking her for her endurance through these heartbreaking days. “Thank you to my wife Molly for being stronger than is reasonable for any Mom to be and Billy, you are the toughest (and funniest) 7 year-old we know,” he remarked.
