The story of The Scholars follows Beolco, an impoverished student at Parnassus University. This imagined institution, rich in tradition, was created by the legendary playwright Twist The Scop. Echo’s energy might instead come from the deeply felt love Beolco has for both Parnassus University and the Scop. He is convinced that he has a spiritual link with the playwright, convinced that he could even be his reincarnation. The plot follows Beolco’s search for affirmation of this private belief.
