Garcelle Beauvais Announces Exit from RHOBH and Unfollows Former Costars

Garcelle Beauvais has confirmed her exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the 2024 season. After five seasons, she is eager to turn the page on this chapter of her reality TV career. On March 25, she issued a surprise announcement. She thanked the cast and crew of the show and mentioned that she was looking forward to a new beginning. As she starts new projects and prioritizes family, Beauvais has unfollowed several former castmates on social media, signaling a significant shift in her personal and professional life.

Beauvais chose to depart in order to focus more on her family and their needs. She aims to go in new creative directions. She stated, “One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys. Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that.” This deep, personal commitment to her family has become one of the motivating forces pushing her out.

The actress and producer confirmed that she has exciting projects in the pipeline, saying, “I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in — I can’t tell you anything now but you’ll know soon.” Her announcement comes just after the final installment of the season 14 reunion aired on April 15, during which Beauvais expressed feelings of isolation from her fellow Housewives, stating, “Everybody jumped at me and I felt like I was on an island by myself.”

Although she went into the series excited to make friends, Beauvais soon discovered that she was not on the same page with the cast. In interviews she opened up about her anxiety on set, most notably an aversion to taking part in the entire ensemble in a cast photograph. Yet, this decision drew attention to her notion that no one was recognizing her attempts to repair the damage as seen in her casting decision. “I can’t be friends with people like that, I can’t trust them. But I don’t trust them and they clearly don’t have a lot of love for me,” she said.

Following her announcement, Beauvais was quick to make moves to distance herself from the production. She finally unfollowed her old castmates on Instagram. Notably, this includes her friend Sutton Stracke, in addition to Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley and Bozoma Saint John. However, she is still in touch with former castmates Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly, and they’re active on social media together.

In her farewell message, Beauvais reflected positively on her time with RHOBH, saying, “It’s been a wild ride, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have happened. She noted that she is, of course, thankful for the opportunity, but that she’s done.

Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the series, recently teased that Beauvais might return. During her time out, he has kept the door open for her return someday. Beauvais confirmed this sentiment by stating, “Andy Cohen says I can come back anytime, the door will always be open, so you never know, I might pop back in sometime.”
