Haley Joel Osment Faces Alcohol and Drug Charges Following Arrest

Actor Haley Joel Osment, known for his role as a boy who communicates with ghosts in the hit 1999 film “The Sixth Sense,” is charged with two misdemeanor offenses. Her alleged charges were public intoxication as a result of alcohol use and cocaine possession. The 37-year-old actor was arrested at Mammoth Mountain ski resort in California earlier this month, following reports of his intoxication.

On April 8, 2023, mountain safety and ski patrol personnel further investigated reports of Osment’s behavior at the resort. This investigation resulted in his arrest. The Mono County District Attorney’s Office verified details of the incident. Because Osment displayed obvious intoxication, resort officials made the decision to intervene.

Unfortunately, Osment is currently in hot water. That announcement comes on the heels of a personal tragedy: earlier this year a fire—now deemed accidental—totally razed his house in Altadena. The actor’s troubles have been exacerbated by this sudden death, which could have played a role in his uncertain whereabouts today.

It’s not Osment’s first brush with the law, either. He had previously garnered charges in 2006 for drunken driving and marijuana possession after crashing into a mailbox. The circumstances of his most recent arrest are still murky. Sadly, online criminal court records for Mono County are not available at this time.

Osment’s next scheduled court appearance is July 7. This time, he will do so in response to charges from his recent arrest. The actor’s predicament has been the focus of intense scrutiny from fans and media alike. His undeniable talent as a prodigious youth, most notably in “The Sixth Sense,” raises the mystery to a whole other level.
