Jelly Roll, the Grammy-winning artist, opened up about the amazing strides he’s taken with his weight loss. He’s lost just about 200 pounds from his starting weight of 540 pounds. By his most recent update, he was down to 357 pounds and working on losing another hundred pounds. In a recent podcast interview with Bunnie Xo, the multimedia artist shared some insight into his vision for the city. He disclosed his present playing weight and his future goals during an appearance on Pat McAfee’s Big Night In live special.
Throughout the podcast, Jelly Roll freely referred to himself as “morbidly obese.” Yet he understands that this title has deeply shaped who he is, even in his triumph—more so, actually. My assuming I was unsuccessful because of my weight did nothing to help me become successful. I became successful in spite of it. I was able to have this much success at 550 lbs. That’s insane,” he expressed during the interview.
Jelly Roll’s weight loss journey kicked off with his decision to take charge of his health and well-being. He made a pretty ambitious target to be on the cover of Men’s Health by March 2026. “And that’s my aspiration now,” he announced, “I wanna have one of the largest turnarounds. This very public announcement is an important milestone in his weight loss journey, energizing both him and his followers.
His wife, Bunnie Xo, has been a loyal partner in this creative metamorphosis. She gushed about his new aspirations, telling Jelly Roll that his goals make her feel “so giddy.” Their courtship started back in 2015 with her attending one of his shows in Las Vegas. Only a year later, in 2016, he surprised her onstage when he proposed.
It turns out, Jelly Roll’s plans extend way past losing weight. He has big plans to go skydiving with Bunnie in Sweden as soon as he reaches his weight loss goal! He enthusiastically declared, “Imma lose another 100 lbs. to go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!”
When Jelly Roll appeared on Pat McAfee’s show last week, McAfee showered the country rapper with adulation for his extraordinary comeback. It seems you’ve shrunk a person,” McAfee said, gesturing at Jelly Roll’s noticeably slimmer frame. He told Jelly Roll to stop living just half a life. We are all really proud of you guys,” he said. We need you to thrive though, bro — you’re one of the good ones.
Jelly Roll’s star remains on the rise, inspiring millions with his weight loss journey as well as personal growth. As he progresses towards his goals, fans and supporters alike eagerly await the next milestones in both his health and career.
