Khloé Kardashian Reflects on Reality TV Moments and Teases New Show Calabasas Behind the Gates

Khloé Kardashian, founder of Good American, took centerstage at Hulu’s first-ever Get Real House event on April 22. She vividly recounted her experience surviving reality TV to the audience. The 40-year-old mother of two shared her thoughts on past experiences and the upcoming spinoff, Calabasas Behind the Gates, which aims to reveal the lives of those closest to the famous Kardashian family.

In her testimony, Kardashian discussed her regrets over some reality TV scenes. Truth be told, she was just a bit embarrassed as she remembered one of the most memorable moments from that 2010 Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode. She blushed at the idea of having to look at herself nude in a tub of sweets. She was quite keen to point out how these moments usually end up being vanity and not substance.

In a candid conversation with Alex Cooper on the April 16 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kardashian discussed her family dynamics in relation to their reality shows. She added that Kim Kardashian is good at playing up her strengths — something that Khloé concurred with. “It’s more vanity things that we would cut,” she noted, emphasizing her family’s creative control over what appears in their episodes. Additionally, she testified that they are all paid the same amount to participate in these shows.

Kardashian got candid about her personal life. She beams when she talks about being a mother to her seven-year-old daughter, True Thompson, and her two-year-old son, Tatum Thompson. Both kids are from her last relationship with ex-boyfriend and NBA player Tristan Thompson. Khloé’s musings on family and fame were deeply introspective, and it made for great television. She teased that her brother Rob Kardashian would be returning to reality television and rejoining the cast of the current Hulu-based series, The Kardashians.

>And as for the new show, Calabasas Behind the Gates, she wouldn’t say if her cousins would appear. Despite her wariness on the scope of the plan, she was effusive about the project, declaring, “It’s very exciting, very new, very cool. Through an unprecedented peek behind the show’s curtain, the new series reveals the Kardashians’ otherwise clandestine prolonged lives. Rob Mills, an executive at Hulu, knows this excitement well. He continued, We all want to know what’s going on behind the gates of Calabasas… Who are all these people in the long lives of the Kardashians.
