Melanie Hamrick, the 37-year-old White Swan author and former ballet dancer has made official her engagement to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. She and the billionaire have in fact been engaged for two or three years, according to various accounts. Don’t expect them to be getting hitched anytime soon. Hamrick discussed his beautiful and unique relationship with Jagger in a new appearance on the Healing With Harmony podcast, diving into their deep connection and lifestyle choices.
The pair originally met in February 2014, when each were on separate tours in Japan. Hamrick, then dancing with the American Ballet Theatre, made headlines when she hooked up with Jagger backstage at a Rolling Stones concert. She remembered that immediate chemistry on their first day meeting, the beginning of what will be a beautiful union.
Though the initial chemistry was established just a few months into dating, their connection soon blossomed into an engagement. Hamrick has a lighthearted approach to the notion of getting hitched. When asked about the diamond ring she wore to the launch event for her debut novel, “First Position,” she coyly confirmed its significance.

Hamrick went on to say that in favor of their current setup, the truth is that there’s something really exciting about their unorthodox approach to not-very-serious commitment. She even went so far as to call being single “pretty fun.” She explained that the joy expressed in their relationship stems from support and understanding, rather than from titles or ceremonies.
