Director Jared Hess was emailed directly by fans who provide early screenings, and has responded, along with producer Chris Miller, inching forward to that enthusiastic territory. The best part, according to Exploratory Art founder Jaime Gilley, is seeing the audience engaged — especially when fans scream and clap at key moments in the film.

“I’ve seen so many funny videos. It’s great, especially when people are climbing on their friends’ shoulders and standing up and cheering for those moments… I’m just glad people are making memories with their friends and families.” – Jared Hess

Hess acknowledged that this level of exuberance can create some disruption. To him the funny thing is that police need to be called because fans are being outraged for responding in shock—jeering, booing, rock throwing…popcorn-throwing.

“It’s weird when you’re having too much fun and the cops get called. It’s funny because I think it’s just literally cheering and throwing popcorn, which is so funny to me that cops are getting called for popcorn.” – Jared Hess

In response to these events, Cineworld has released a statement urging moviegoers to have more respect while watching films.

“To make sure everyone has a blast, we ask that all cinemagoers respect cinema etiquette.” – Cineworld

The countdown is on, as excitement builds for the release of this groundbreaking film! Millions of other fans are clamoring to get into Minecraft’s creative sandbox environment! An exciting creative team and a remarkable cast, it looks like it is going to be an enlightening cinematic experience. This potent mixture pretty much guarantees this adaptation will do big box office numbers.
