Consumers can order the digital version of “Mario Kart World” for $79.99 and “Donkey Kong Bananza” for $69.99. Nintendo has confirmed price changes for different accessories connected with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This period coincides with the launch of the new console and more importantly, its new games. Each set of docks will go up by $10. Furthermore, the controller strap included will be $1 more than previous generations. All other accessories are scheduled to increase in cost by $5.
Nintendo has moved manufacturing of the Switch 2 entirely to Asia. They are shifting their production from established factories in China and Vietnam. The new tariffs are exorbitant, 145% on imports from China and 10% on those from Vietnam. Such a stunning jump in prices has led to a drastic reconsideration of production techniques to save on expenses.
