Paul Wesley Advocates for Holistic Health After Overcoming Stressful Decade

Paul Wesley, the actor best known for playing Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, is Burwell’s producer and frequent collaboration partner. Wesley has been very frank about his journey. After a decade of hustle culture overload, he is now making his health and wellness his #1 priority. Wesley, now in his 40s, shares what led him on the path to improved health. So, after struggling with his health in his 20s and early 30s with loss of energy and irregular sleep patterns, he learned to take control.

By the age of 26, Wesley got his big break on The Vampire Diaries, which shot him into stardom. Unfortunately, the pressures of his successful career began to affect his health. Wesley acknowledged that he pushed his health to the extreme during this period, resulting in an adrenal crash of epic proportions. He was suffering from cognitive impairment, aka brain fog, and was getting crushed by the weight of expectation— all that acting pressure.

I was burnt out and miserable,” Wesley said, looking back on his late 20s and early 30s. “I couldn’t believe that I was missing out on [meditation]. It changed my life.”

In the past few years, Wesley has worked as the brand ambassador for Hone Health. This subscription-based virtual health clinic focuses on offering personalized supplement recommendations. His advocacy for holistic health stems from a desire to understand the root causes of his health issues rather than merely treating symptoms.

Wesley described that, in the American context, we do a very ritualized thing when we get sick. We go to the doctor, pick up our prescription and return to life as normal. We never actually look under the hood to say what’s really going on.

Today, nutrition, exercise, and meditation are non-negotiable elements of Wesley’s life. By incorporating these practices into his daily routine, he’s turned his life around and achieved his best health yet. He is convinced that a proactive approach to wellness can stop many health issues before they start.

I learned that intentional protocols really help. Healthy supplements, a healthy diet, exercise can prevent nearly all of those maladies,” he said.

Wesley’s partnership with Hone Health has empowered him to inspire other people on their health journey. The platform provides personalized supplement regimens with support from a health coach to help users feel better and improve their overall wellbeing.

For the last five or six years, I’ve tried to put a lot of effort into adopting a holistic approach. This transition has changed how I approach challenges. Wesley noted, “I had always looked at things the way that Hone Health looks at it.”

His remarkable transition now has him feeling better than ever. And he’s inspiring people to do the same and take control of their body by seeking out holistic alternatives and putting self-care first. Wesley’s experience is an important reminder that even the healthiest looking people have severe obstacles they work to overcome, often out of sight.

On further addition, we developed this idea that exercise was about getting a hot bod. As he pointed out, it’s happening mostly in cities. Back then, we thought it was just about health. Rather, he challenges you to approach exercise like an integral part of your holistic health.
