The multi-Emmy-winning animated series Rick and Morty returns for its seventh season! The buzz has been palpable in recent weeks, especially with the release of an action-packed new trailer. The series is known for its signature blend of acerbic wit, political satire, dark humor, and bizarrely hilarious science fiction escapism. It pulls audiences in with creative world-building, jaw-dropping special effects, and larger than life characters. Fans can mark their calendars for May 25th at 11:00 PM when the new season will premiere.
The trailer takes us headfirst into the fun, frenetic, and often confusing realm of Rick and Morty. Most importantly, it hones in on moments that exemplify the absurdity fans have accepted as canon. Jerry is memorable not just because he chews through a head of lettuce at an unbelievable rate. This hilariously absurd scene exemplifies the wonderful weirdness of the show’s sense of humor. There are just ten episodes to get through this fabulous season, so hang on! First glimpse is really encouraging, can’t wait to show it to critics and audiences!!! Last season ended with the action-packed “Fear No Mort. The extreme reception Critics awarded it 77% on Rotten Tomatoes but the audience reception was much worse at only 50%. In comparison, season six was positively received, earning spectacular 91% and 88% scores.
Among the titles of upcoming episodes are “Summer of All Fears,” “Valkyrick,” “The Rick, The Mort & The Ugly,” “The Last Temptation of Jerry,” “Cyro Mort a Rickver,” “The Curicksous Case of Bethjamin Button,” “Ricker than Fiction,” “Nomortland,” “Morty Daddy,” and “Hot Rick.” In “The Last Temptation of Jerry,” Rick and Morty take a gleeful plunge into the fascinating depths of religious weaponry. They find themselves on a cosmic journey to discover the real Easter Bunny and face the weirdness of Space Christianity.
Heath & Ian Cardoni, who is taking over the role of Rick for this season. In the meantime, actor Harry Belden will provide voice for Morty. In the time since its debut, the show – especially in retrospect – has created a legacy that is hard to match. Season one currently enjoys an astounding 97% audience and critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Anticipation is sky-high for the eighth and final season! Fandom would be very happy to see the series flourish and is hopeful it’ll be on par with its previous critical success.
