Konami has unveiled Silent Hill f, a new addition to the iconic horror video game series, marking a significant departure from its predecessors. Notably, Silent Hill f will not be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and it has no confirmed release date yet. This installment introduces a fresh narrative set in 1960s Japan, a first for the series, and will be available on Xbox and PC alongside other platforms.

The production of Silent Hill f is spearheaded by Motoi Okamoto, who is also known for his role as the producer of the Silent Hill 2 remake. Collaborating with Okamoto are renowned writer Ryukishi07 and artist kera, who bring unique perspectives to the game's development. Adding to the creative team, composers Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage will craft the haunting score that defines the series' eerie atmosphere.

Silent Hill f follows the story of teenager Shimizu Hinako as she navigates the unsettling mysteries of Ebisugaoka, a remote mountain town. The tagline "find beauty in terror" encapsulates the game's essence as players explore the psychological depths and nightmarish landscapes that have become synonymous with Silent Hill.

"To this day, I remember the feeling of my first encounter with the strangling and oppressive atmosphere of Silent Hill," Okamoto reflected on his long-standing connection to the series. "It still deeply haunts me, and it still utterly fascinates me."

The game's setting in Japan offers a fresh cultural backdrop, providing rich new themes and folklore for players to delve into. With its 1960s timeline, Silent Hill f promises a unique historical perspective intertwined with the series' signature psychological horror.
