Zachary Levi, the 44-year-old actor known for starring in “Shazam!” and “Chuck,” is now a father. He takes this thrilling news to his partner, Maggie Keating. The happy new parents welcomed their son, Henson Ezra Levi Pugh on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. They announced the happy news to their Instagram followers on the morning of Thursday, April 10, calling it a dream come true.
People confirmed that Levi and Keating were expecting their first child together in December 2024. They released the news accompanied by an emotional Instagram video post. The pregnancy announcement shared an ultrasound photo of their little one and a photo of the couple enjoying a glorious day together at the beach. Levi shared that his path to fatherhood has been a dream come true. He’d been training for this day since last November.
In his announcement, Levi shared some thoughts about the self-discovery journey he has been on prior to welcoming fatherhood into his life. He admitted that he felt a “shift” needed to happen in his life before he could be “ready for the blessing of something so special and the responsibilities that come with it.” He credited Keating as a significant influence, stating she is “a wonderful woman on the same journey of self-discovery and love, ready to step into a new and amazing chapter of life with me.”
Both Levi and Keating were eager to show their son the world. Although they had not found out the sex of the baby prior to birth, their enthusiasm was clear. Levi remained optimistic about parenthood, adding, “I’ll be stoked out of my mind either way.”
The couple marked this special occasion with an endearing Instagram post, where they wrote, “Henson Ezra Levi Pugh 🤍 Born into our world on 04/02/25.” That beautiful picture of them holding Henson with him looking up at his daddy, and their hands wrapped around him completely, was an accidental shot. Henson had worn a onesie proclaiming her the “Best thing to come out of 2025,” which was indicative of Levi’s carefree spirit towards parenting.
Even though Levi wanted them to choose something unique for their child, he understood the need to be original while remaining practical. He stated, “Keep ’em original, but not TOO original.” This palpable bliss speaks to his desire to combine artistic sensibility with parenting practicality as the new creative class takes to nativism’s path.
As they move into this new phase, Levi was thankful for their supporters. He continued by thanking all of you for showering their family of three with love and prayers. He understood just how important the backing of a community feels during this big milestone in life.
